When/how can I make an appointment?

What can I expect from my first appointment?

Visiting the dentist can be an unsettling experience. We hope that this blog post will give you more of an idea of what to expect when visiting the Dentist @ Maypole for the first time..

  • Prior to your appointment, you will have spoken to our friendly receptionist who will ask you if you have any problems or concerns with your teeth/smile – which will then be communicated across to Dr. Patel.

 

  • Upon arrival, we request that you fill out a confidential medical history form. It is critical that you fill this out as accurately as possible so that we can form a personal, accurate treatment plan based around you.
  • Examination:
    • Otherwise known as a ‘dental check-up’ which includes:
      • Obtaining an itemised list of any problems or concerns you may have
      • Full and comprehensive oral cancer screen
      • Close examination of the health of the gums, and your current level of oral health
      • Comprehensive evaluation of the teeth, x-rays may be needed at this point dependent upon the individual.
    • After this has been completed, we will discuss our findings with you and together build a tailored, itemised treatment plan inclusive of costs.
